2009 Foals
For the year
2009, Flying Colours Farms have several mares in foal. 2009
promises to be a year full of surprises for us as we have
expanded our stallion prospects to not only include W/B
crosses, full T/B's but the possibility of some excellent
splashes of different colour combinations to our already
wonderful nursery!
Two of our mares are in foal to the imported cremello
German Warmblood stallion
Mirabeau, a 2000, 16.2 hand stallion by
Marscarpone out of Mirabelle is owned by
Blazing Colours Farm. This stallion is registered
with ZfdP in Germany and entered into SB II with RPSI.
Crème of the Crop was
bred back to
Mirabeau. Her first foal by him is a palomino colt
Mirage (aka Cassidy) that
was Silver Premium at a RPSI inspection. We know that this
mare crossed with this stallion will produce another
breathtaking foal.
Brass Monkey was also
bred to
Mirabeau and we are expecting a tall leggy palomino
foal from her. This mare is over 17 H. and screams jumper
potential so we are waiting iwith great anticipation to see
this cross.
Stardust Melodies,
was bred to the cremello Thoroughbred,
El Dorado.
El Dorado is a 16.2 h stallion standing at
Blazing Colours Farm. This cross will produce a
palomino foal. Mel always throws magnificent babies and we
are sure this one will be no different.
Schatzi Von Eich was
in foal to
Cloud Ten, an all white Thoroughbred stallion with a
base colour of palomino standing at
Blazing Colours Farm.. Unfortunately she lost
the baby in the fourth month of her pregnancy. Schatzi is
fine and will be bred back to
Cloud Ten in 2009.
This Is For Gran was
bred to
Arts Aero, a premium black and white pinto Oldenberg
stallion standing at
Blazing Colours Farm. This cross should produce a
foal with a "look at me" attitude. Another one that we just
can't wait to see as this combination is something we have
never done before now. Her first filly now resides in
Arizona and has grown wonderfully. Her filly from last year
is just a clone to her mom and we are so lucky to have had
her.
Flying Colours also bred two of their mares to our up
and coming stallion Melody's Prince.
He is one of our favourite colts who was started under
saddle this fall and showing great signs of jumper
potential. He has a wonderful personality and is a joy to
work with. He just can't do enough to try to please you and
is so obedient at all times. It really is a thrill to have
the opportunity to own such a nice colt!
Driving Rosa Wild, is
a 16.2h chestnut sabino TB mare. Rosa's athletic way of
traveling crossed with Melody's
Prince will be something to look forward to. This
will be a special baby for us since it is our first from our
own colt.
Timely Purpose T B, a
16+ hand, bay mare with excellent conformation and
exceptional movement. Her foal from last year is already
almost at 16 H so we have high hopes for this foal. Again
this baby will be one of those special ones as it is another
first from our own colt Melody's
Prince.
2008 Foals
For the year
2008, Flying Colours Farms had three mares in foal.
Two mares,
Black Oaks Paris, and
Crème of the Crop are
in foal to the Imported Cremello German Warmblood stallion
Mirabeau.
Mirabeau, a 2000, 16.2 hand stallion by
Marscarpone out of Mirabelle is owned by
Blazing Colours Farm. This stallion is registered
with
ZfdP in Germany and entered into SB II with RPSI.
Our third mare, This is
for Gran, was bred to
Guaranteed Gold, and produced another beautiful
filly (barn name) Caluhua,
March 22, 2008.
Guaranteed
Gold is a 1998, 16.1 hand stallion by Milkie's Desire out of
Distingold by Gold Apollo owned by TrueColours Farm. This
stallion is also approved as Bronze premium by the CSHA.
Both of these stallions possess correct conformation and
pass on wonderful movement to their foals as well as
guaranteeing palomino and buckskin foals (with a possibility
of smoky black) from chestnut and bay mares.
